Very few cine goers may recall the name of the British actor Andy Serkis but this excellent actor who enacted in the lead roles of King Kong, Gollum in Lord of the Rings, Caeser the ape in the recently released Dawn of the Planet of the Apes among others, created these super natural creatures with perfect emoting and expression. You may not feel the presence of these ‘motion capture’ actors like serkis on screen because motion-capture is a digital technology where animation and special effects play major roles. For instance, Andy Serkis played the roles of King Kong or ape wearing specially created suits ( motion capture suits) which covered in numerous dot like sensors with multiple cameras normally in front of a green screen (croma).

These cameras capture movements of actors and feed them to computer software. After the shooting, VFX artists and animators convert the human actors with these creatures in real locations according to scripts matching their anatomy and psychology onto the faces and bodies of motion-capture factors.Now-a-days more and more film makers from Hollywood adopt these digital enhanced technology to create real and true characters with perfect soul and emotion. As industry experts believe that in these cases human actors recreate the super natural screen characters with perfect facial expressions and emotions. We may hope that in near future  these talented actors like Serkis who recreate memorable and immensely popular characters on screen would be nominated for prestigious awards like Oscar for their contributor.
