Welcome Dalai Lama
Tawang is awaiting to receive the 14th Dalai Lama who is arriving on a five-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday (Nov. 8).The undisputed head of the Buddhists, His Holiness the Dalai Lama is expected to arrive tawng at 10 am local time.The state government of Arunachal pradesh has already announced that visit is purely religious.The Chinese government has objected to the visit of spiritual leader Dalai Lama.China also has accused the Spiritual Head of creating trouble for China.After staying at the Tawang Monastery the Dalai Lama would travel to Dirang on Nov 12.He would travel to Bomdila where he will stay for two days before his arrival in Itanagar,the state capital on the Nov. 14.After his dramatic escape from the Chinese atrocities to India via Zemithang in Tawang.This is the fourth visit of the Spiritual leader. He had earlier come to Arunachal Pradesh in 1983, 1993 and 2003.
In April 1983, His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Dirang ,Arunachal Pradesh.In 1962 China,India went to war over their disputed territories and more than a dozen meetings have failed to resolve these issues.
In April 1993 Dalai Lama visited neighbouring Gantok,Sikkim.In December 1996,Dalai Lama Visited Salugara,West Bengal.
The His Holiness the Dalai Lama has very soft corner for Tawang because after chinese troops invaded Tibet in 1959,he entered to Indian side through north of Tawang.
