Blend entertainment with news

In the age of cut throat competition, news channels in Calcutta should use vastly different

approaches to attract viewers specially younger ones who are not interested in news and current affairs. For this purpose, they should try to blend entertainment with news. Purists may criticised these efforts. But, the ultimate goal is to shore up revenues and create a self identity. In Calcutta, news channels which are not market leaders take different approaches to attract new viewers. Few of them turn themselves as the mouth piece of TMC, the main opposition political party of Bengal led by the sentimental Mamata Banarjee but it’s not the solution.

They should use (download) royalty free photographs from specialized websites.Similarly, they should only publish permissible articles. They must know that they can only use subscription based archival materials. Always remember that we can not or should not use copy righted materials. After all, plagiarism is not acceptable. For this purpose, they can use meta search or extreme engines rather than google or other popular search engines. There is a misconception that we can use any information from the Internet.
